M12 Vent Plug Installation Guide
Proper installation ensures optimal performance and longevity of your M12 stainless protective vent plug
Pre-installation Preparation
Before starting installation, confirm that the installation position on the equipment matches the M12 thread specification of the vent plug.
Gather necessary tools such as a torque wrench or adjustable spanner, ensuring they are clean and free of debris that could damage the thread.
Check the vent plug for any visible defects like scratches on the thread or damage to the sealing gasket.
Cleaning and Surface Treatment
Thoroughly clean the thread of the equipment's installation hole and the vent plug's thread using a lint-free cloth.
Remove any oil, rust, or dust deposits that might affect sealing performance. For slightly corroded thread surfaces, gently polish with a soft brush.
Ensure the sealing gasket (if equipped) is intact and clean; replace it with a new one if it shows signs of aging or wear.
Proper Installation Operation
Align the vent plug with the equipment's installation hole, ensuring the thread is correctly engaged to avoid cross-threading.
Rotate the vent plug manually clockwise until it fits snugly against the installation surface.
Use the prepared tool to tighten the vent plug to the recommended torque—avoid over-tightening, which may deform the thread or damage the sealing gasket.
Post-installation Verification
After installation, visually inspect the connection between the vent plug and the equipment to ensure there are no gaps or misalignment.
Perform a simple leakage test by spraying a small amount of clean water around the installation area; check for water seepage to confirm sealing effectiveness.
Operate the equipment briefly and observe whether the vent plug maintains stable performance without abnormal noise or air leakage.
